Pete Horne is an accomplished artist and musician. With a BFA and graduate studies at DSU, he is a master technician of an artists. Whether you are brand-new to drawing, or wanting to sharpen your skills 0 this is the course for you.
Katie Wadkins is becoming a local legend with her pottery. Her work is ought out at our Farmers' Market and sells out fast at festivals and art shows. With a FBA in Pottery from DSU, Katie has the knowledge and experience to teach beginners to experienced potters the fundamentals of ceramics. This course offers the latitude for the student to experiment with hand-building or learning how to wheel throw. For those with experience, this is a great time for studio space with all the materials needed to make your own creations.
Whether you use a camera or a phone, this course is for the budding photographer in you. Greta Koshenina who holds a MFA in Documentary Expression from the University of MS will help you develop your skills as a photography and a visual artist.

Join us for a social and strategic Mahjong experience designed for players of all skill levels. Beginners receive friendly instruction and guidance to learn the rules and strategies, while more experience players can enjoy independent play with others at their skill level. This class is a great way to sharpen you mind, connect with others, and enjoy hours of engaging gameplay.
Unlock your creativity one torn page at a time! This collage class is all about process over perfection - a space where students can experiment freely, try new materials, and discover the joy of spontaneous making. Each week, artists will dive into hands-on exploration using magazines, decorative papers, paint, markers, and mixed media. Students will practice techniques on inexpensive boards to warm up and play before moving to higher-quality gallery panels, helping them learn without pressure and embrace the idea that "messing up" is simply part of becoming a stronger artist. By the end of the session ,students will take home thoughtful, layered collage pieces - but more importantly, they'll gain the understanding that creativity grows through curiosity, courage, and practice.
Teens to Adults Wednesdays 6:15-7:30 PM This class provides an in-depth exploration of acting, improvisation, and stagecraft for older teens and adults. Participants will refine performance techniques, build confidence, and develop strong communication and collaboration skills - all essential for contributing to community theater productions. Through hands-on exercises and scene work, students gain practical experience that can prepare them for roles both on stage and behind the scenes.
This course explores the therapeutic and transformative power of arts king through a unique blend of art history and studio practice. For teens and older, students will study artists and movements that have used art as a means of healing, processing trauma, expressing emotion, and finding meaning - then apply these concepts in their own painting practice. Each week combines historical context with hands-on studio work, emphasizing the healing potential of creative expression.
