Perfect class for those who wish to start their dance journey. This fun introductory class includes jazz and ballet.
Our creative writing and book club is currently exploring the Percy Jackson series from Rick Riordan. Students are exploring the mythological legends while using the material to inspire their own writing.
Pete Horne is an accomplished musician and artist. In this class, he leads students through exercises to help develop sound artistic technique while experimenting with different mediums and inspirations.
Join our Choir Club for a fun and engaging introduction to choral singing! Young vocalists will learn healthy singing techniques, explore age-appropriate music, and build confidence through group performance.
You’ve asked, and we have answered! Claytastic is a six week course for young potters. Jenn Woodard, Art Chair at MDCC, will provided step-by-step instructions to lead students in hand-building with clay. Each session will have a new themes and each week is a new project within that theme.

Whether you use a camera or a phone, this course is for the budding photographer in you. Greta Koshenina who holds a MFA in Documentary Expression from the University of MS will help you develop your skills as a photography and a visual artist.
In this upbeat beginner tap class, K–6th graders learn basic steps, rhythms, and musicality while making plenty of joyful noise! Through fun exercises and simple combinations, young dancers build coordination, confidence, and a love for movement.

As a working artist who hold masters in art and is currently teaching photography at DSU, she has the knowledge and experience to teach the elements of art in a fun and engaging manner. Each week Greta leads students through exercises and projects to help them develop their artistic skill and proper technique.

In this literacy and art adventure, a certified teacher guides K–3 students through a beloved children’s book each week, bringing the story to life through discussion and hands-on creativity. After reading, students dive into a themed art project that reinforces comprehension, imagination, and joy in storytelling. It’s the perfect blend of reading, creating, and exploring together.
This course explores the therapeutic and transformative power of arts king through a unique blend of art history and studio practice. For teens and older, students will study artists and movements that have used art as a means of healing, processing trauma, expressing emotion, and finding meaning - then apply these concepts in their own painting practice. Each week combines historical context with hands-on studio work, emphasizing the healing potential of creative expression.
